Elasticsearch requires at least Java 8 but your Java version from /usr/bin/java does not meet this requirement

Download Java SE Development Kit

$ java -version
java version "1.8.0_131"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_131-b11)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.131-b11, mixed mode)

You have to install JDK not JRE.

Go to the elasticsearch-5.4.0 directory and run:

$ ./bin/elasticsearch

Check Elastisearch
